What is Leaky Gut Syndrome?
Leaky gut syndrome in dogs is a digestive condition which occurs because of inflammation to the lining of the gut cell wall, resulting in gaps appearing between the cells.
This allows bacteria and toxins to pass into the bloodstream.
In a healthy dog, the intestines have small gaps called “tight junctions” that allow water and nutrients to pass through, while blocking harmful substances.
When damage occurs, the tight junctions become weak and the resultant increased intestinal permeability allows bacteria, toxins and undigested food particles to pass from the gut into the bloodstream.

Animal gut microbes play a key role in imprinting immunity. AuraShield is a scientifically formulated Eubiotic safeguarding a healthy gut microflora. How does it work?
Scientific research shows that AuraShield stimulates the beneficial bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract. As a result, more mucus is secreted to create a sealed barrier in the broiler intestine. This makes it more difficult for pathogenic bacteria to invade and attach themselves to the gut intestine. AuraShield has been proven to impact the motility of pathogenic bacteria. Boosting the immunity and health status of your calves is of crucial importance for your calf rearing programme. It determines the success of your cattle livestock and future milk yield performance.
A favourable gut microflora determines the success of future dairy milk yield performance for a dairy calf and goat kid, and also ensures sustainable and profitable livestock production.
Given that 50% of calf mortality occurs within the first six weeks of life, farmers should aim to double calf birth weight during the first 56 days of life, reducing calf mortality and morbidity at the same time.
